Getting started

  1. Subscribe and receive your licence password

£35 per month for the full package of either product, £30 per month for the Lite version, or £60 per month for both full products, all plus VAT. Annual licences save 5%; see Pricing. Email orbit.dc.surveysoftware@outlook.com to subscribe.

  2. Download and unblock the zip

Windows blocks macros and plug-ins that come from the internet. Before you unzip it, right-click the zip, choose Properties, tick Unblock at the bottom, then click OK. Everything you unzip from it is then unblocked too.

  3. ORBIT inside Excel: unzip and open

Unzip to a folder such as Documents. Keep ORBIT_PUBLIC.xlsm and ORBIT_PUBLIC_xlsm_64.dll together in the same folder, then open the workbook and enter your licence password.

  4. ORBIT inside AutoCAD: install the plug-in

Unzip, then copy the OrbitPalette.bundle folder into %APPDATA%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins (paste that into the File Explorer address bar). Restart AutoCAD and type DCORBIT to open the palette.

  5. Training

Comprehensive training is available on site or via Microsoft Teams.
